Jellycat Wiggedy Boombox

There is a stillness to Jellycat Wiggedy Boombox, a grey amuseable of 22 cm that asks to be picked up.

The piece itself

This is one of the Amuseables, the range where everyday objects are given a face and a pair of feet. The colourway is grey, and it holds its shape well enough to sit up on its own rather than slump against whatever is behind it.

How big it is

Wiggedy Boombox stands 22 cm. We give the exact figure on every plush for one reason: it is the only number that tells you whether something will fit it. Our garment listings carry the same kind of figure, so the two can be read directly against each other without converting anything.

The collection it belongs to

This one comes from the Wiggedy range. Jellycat design in ranges rather than one piece at a time, and it shows: the proportions, the face and the finish carry across, which is why collectors tend to buy two or three from the same family rather than one from each. Our own outfits are cut to centimetre bands for the same reason, so a piece bought a year later still has something in the wardrobe that fits it.

Made from, and looking after it

Polyester fabric with polyester filling. Hand wash only. Do not tumble dry. Washing by hand keeps the nap on the fabric, which is the part a machine cycle flattens first, and it is the difference between a plush that still looks new after two years and one that does not.

Suitability

It sits on the novelty and fun side of the shop and is most often bought for a birthday and no particular reason at all. The kind of thing that ends up staying, rather than being put away after a week.

Why we stock it

We are an outfit house first. The plush we stock, Wiggedy Boombox among them, are the companions those outfits are made for, and we list every garment by the centimetre band it fits so nothing has to be guessed at. Each piece is checked before it is wrapped and sent.
