One measurement, no letters
The size is the height of your plush
Every outfit is drafted around a plush of a given height and named after it. We cut 7 sizes, for friends from 15 to 62 cm. Tell us how tall yours is and we will show you which one to take.
How to measure
Measuring takes about a minute
-
Measure from head to heel on a flat surface
Sit your plush the way it normally sits and measure from the top of the head down to the base. Ears, tails, wings and hanging loops are all left out: the patterns are drafted for the body.
-
Match your plush height to our size range
Find that figure in the "fits a plush measuring" column. Every size on this site is named after the plush it fits, so the number you measured is the number you are looking for.
-
Choose your outfit with confidence
If your measurement lands between two sizes, take the larger one. A slightly generous garment still sits beautifully; a slightly tight one will not go on at all.
The sizes we cut
7 sizes, smallest to largest
A firm body does not give, so its sizes are one exact figure. A soft body gives a little under a seam, so each of its sizes covers a short range.
Firm figures and keychains
Labubu, pendant figures and bag charms. One exact figure each.

Find the one shaped like yours
Every outfit in the shop is photographed on one of our own characters. Each stands in for a kind of plush, so the one that sits or stands like yours shows how the outfit will sit on it.

A seated bear
Bearer
Bearer sits the way most bears and teddies do. If your friend sits like this, measure from the top of the head to the base and you have your size.

A long-eared bunny
Aera
Aera has ears that fall well past the head. They are left out of the measurement, and so are the ears of the bunny you are dressing.

Aero
Aero wears the same sizes as Aera. Soft bodies like these give a little under a seam, which is why each of these sizes covers a range.

A standing figure
Fondi
Fondi stands upright on a firm body. A body like this does not give, so these outfits are cut to one exact figure and not to a range.

Wisha
Wisha hangs from a clasp. Measure the body only: the clasp, the strap and the loop are all left out.

When a tag and our table disagree
Why a 31 cm Jellycat wears our 28 cm
Both numbers are right. They measure different things. Jellycat lists a height standing, ears included. We measure the body as it sits, because that is how a garment meets it.
A Bashful Medium listed at 31 cm measures about 25 cm seated, which is inside the 24 to 29 cm our 28 cm size covers. So when a tag and this page disagree, it is almost always ears.
Good to know
The thinking behind the numbers
-
Why exact figures and not S, M, L
They used to be letter bands, and the bands were too blunt. "M" covered 20 to 29 cm, a nine-centimetre spread on a body barely twenty centimetres tall. Naming a size after the plush it was cut for is less tidy and far more useful: you measure once and read the answer.
-
Why firm and soft are sized differently
On a firm body nothing compresses, so 15 cm means 15 cm and there is no range to give. A stuffed body gives a little under a seam, which is why a 28 cm outfit is right for a 26 cm bunny and wrong for a 22 cm one.
-
Between two sizes, take the larger
Our patterns are cut with a little ease, so a garment one step up still sits well. One a step too small will not close over the shoulders. If your figure falls outside every range, ask us before ordering.
-
Looking after the fit
Dress the plush slowly and do not tug at a closed seam. Hand wash cool, reshape while damp and dry flat away from direct heat. A knit that is wrung out loses its spring, and with it a little of the fit.

Sizing questions
Not sure of your size? Ask before you order.
Tell us what you are dressing and how tall it is seated. We will say which size to take, and say so plainly if nothing we cut is right for it.
How do I measure my plush for an outfit?
Sit the plush on a flat surface and measure from the top of the head to the base, leaving out ears, tails, wings and hanging loops. That single figure is what every size on this site is named after, so once you have it you can read the answer straight off the table.
My plush measures between two sizes. Which should I choose?
Take the larger size. Our patterns are cut with a little ease, so a garment one step up still sits well on a smaller body: it simply reads as a relaxed fit. A garment a step too small will not close over the shoulders at all, and there is no way to recover that once it arrives. If your figure does not fall inside any of the ranges in the table, ask us before ordering rather than rounding: we will tell you which size to take, or say plainly if nothing we currently cut is right for it.
Jellycat lists my bunny as 31 cm. Why does the 28 cm outfit fit it?
Because the two numbers measure different things. Jellycat lists the height standing, ears included; our sizes are the height of the body as the plush sits, which is how a garment actually meets it. A Bashful Medium listed at 31 cm measures about 25 cm seated, and that falls inside the 24 to 29 cm range our 28 cm size covers. Measure seated and the tables line up.
Do the outfits stretch?
A little, and by design. The cotton blends and knits we sew with give gently across a seam, which is what lets a garment ease over a soft body without pulling on it. That give is what makes a size cover a range rather than a single figure: it is not a substitute for measuring, but it is why a close fit is comfortable rather than tight.
Will an outfit fit a Squishmallow or a Build-A-Bear?
Yes, where the height matches. We size by measurement rather than by brand, so anything soft-bodied in the same range wears the same outfit. Build-A-Bear companions usually land in our 36 cm and 47 cm sizes; Squishmallows run from the small sizes right up to the 56 cm. Measure yours seated and use the table.
Does the 17 cm Labubu size fit other Labubu figures?
It fits the standard vinyl plush pendant, which Pop Mart lists at 17 cm excluding the hanging loop. Labubu bodies are firm and do not compress, so the Labubu sizes are cut to one exact figure instead of a range: a 15 cm figure needs the 15 cm size, not the 17 cm one.
My plush has long ears, a tail or wings. Does that change the size?
No. Leave them out of the measurement entirely and size on the body alone. Our garments are drafted around the torso, and the openings are cut so ears and tails pass through or sit outside rather than having to be squeezed in.
What if I am still not sure which size to order?
Send us the measurement and tell us what you are dressing. We read everything and reply in our own words, and we would far rather answer a question before an order than process a return after one.
