Jellycat Tumblie Duck

Jellycat Tumblie Duck arrives as a yellow duck, 35 cm from base to ear tip, soft the whole way through.

What it is like to hold

Tumblie Duck has the quality that is hard to photograph and obvious in the hand, which is evenness. No thin patches, no hard filling anywhere, and a colourway of yellow carried right through to the underside rather than stopping where it stops being visible.

How big it is

The measurement is 35 cm. Worth knowing to the centimetre rather than roughly, because our outfits are listed by the height they are cut for and a few centimetres is the difference between a dress that closes and one that does not. Measure base to head, and the size guide will tell you the rest.

The collection it belongs to

Within Jellycat’s catalogue Tumblie Duck belongs to Tumblie, and that is the useful thing to know when you are choosing a second one. A range shares its finish and its proportions, so pieces from the same family photograph well together and, more practically, often share a centimetre band, which means they can share a wardrobe.

Made from, and looking after it

Polyester fabric with polyester filling. Hand wash only. Do not tumble dry. Cool water and a little time are all it asks. Avoid wringing it out, since that is what distorts the seams, and press the water out with a towel instead.

Who it is for

Filed under everyday companion, and chosen here for a birthday and no particular reason at all more than anything else. It reads as considered rather than expensive, which is usually the harder thing to get right in a gift.

About A Flying Wish

A Flying Wish stocks Jellycat plush alongside the outfits we design and make ourselves. Every piece is designed with purpose, made to fit many beloved plush companions, and the two halves of the shop are meant to be used together. Tumblie Duck is one of the plush our outfits are cut to fit, and the size guide sets out which pieces work with which band.
