Jellycat Amuseable Watermelon

Meet Jellycat Amuseables Watermelon, a green amuseable of 25 cm that settles easily into the crook of an arm.

A closer look

The Amuseables idea is simple and it works. An ordinary thing is given a face, two small feet and enough personality to earn a place on a shelf. Amuseables Watermelon reads as green and pink, and the stitching around the features is neat enough to look deliberate rather than merely cute.

Size and fit

At 25 cm, Amuseables Watermelon is easy to size up against an outfit. Measure your own plush from the base to the top of the head and compare the two numbers directly. The size guide carries the full table, and every garment we make names the height it is cut for.

Where it sits in the Jellycat range

Within Jellycat’s catalogue Amuseables Watermelon belongs to Amuseables, and that is the useful thing to know when you are choosing a second one. A range shares its finish and its proportions, so pieces from the same family photograph well together and, more practically, often share a centimetre band, which means they can share a wardrobe.

Fabric and washing

Polyester fabric with polyester filling. Hand wash only. Do not tumble dry. Washing by hand keeps the nap on the fabric, which is the part a machine cycle flattens first, and it is the difference between a plush that still looks new after two years and one that does not.

Who it is for

Filed under amuseables food and drink, and chosen here for a birthday and no particular reason at all more than anything else. It reads as considered rather than expensive, which is usually the harder thing to get right in a gift.

Why we stock it

Two things happen in this shop. We make outfits for plush companions, and we stock the companions themselves, Amuseables Watermelon included. Keeping both under one roof is the only way to be certain that what we sell to dress a plush actually fits the plush we sold.
