Sensational Seafood Mussel jellycat

Meet Jellycat Sensational Seafood Mussel, a black sea creature of 10 cm that settles easily into the crook of an arm.

What it is like to hold

Sensational Seafood Mussel has the quality that is hard to photograph and obvious in the hand, which is evenness. No thin patches, no hard filling anywhere, and a colourway of black and orange carried right through to the underside rather than stopping where it stops being visible.

Measurements and fit

The height is 10 cm. That single figure is what our outfit listings are matched against, which is why it is printed here rather than a rough category. If you are buying a garment at the same time, it is the only measurement you need.

Where it sits in the Jellycat range

Within Jellycat’s catalogue Sensational Seafood Mussel belongs to Sensational Seafood, and that is the useful thing to know when you are choosing a second one. A range shares its finish and its proportions, so pieces from the same family photograph well together and, more practically, often share a centimetre band, which means they can share a wardrobe.

Made from, and looking after it

Polyester fabric with polyester filling. Hand wash only. Do not tumble dry. Nothing here needs special products. Warm water and a mild detergent are what the fabric was finished with in the first place, and anything stronger works against it.

Suitability

We list it under everyday companion, and it is picked here mostly for a birthday and no particular reason at all. Big enough to notice when it is unwrapped, and not so big that it has to find a permanent home the same day.

Where this sits in our shop

A Flying Wish stocks Jellycat plush alongside the outfits we design and make ourselves. Every piece is designed with purpose, made to fit many beloved plush companions, and the two halves of the shop are meant to be used together. Sensational Seafood Mussel is one of the plush our outfits are cut to fit, and the size guide sets out which pieces work with which band.
