Jellycat Tropical Palm Leaf

Jellycat Tropical Palm Leaf arrives as a green amuseable, 40 cm from base to ear tip, soft the whole way through.

The piece itself

The Amuseables idea is simple and it works. An ordinary thing is given a face, two small feet and enough personality to earn a place on a shelf. Tropical Palm Leaf reads as green, and the stitching around the features is neat enough to look deliberate rather than merely cute.

Measurements and fit

The measurement is 40 cm. Worth knowing to the centimetre rather than roughly, because our outfits are listed by the height they are cut for and a few centimetres is the difference between a dress that closes and one that does not. Measure base to head, and the size guide will tell you the rest.

The collection it belongs to

Tropical Palm Leaf sits within the Jellycat Characters range. We keep a range together on the shelf and on the site, because the pieces were designed to be seen that way, and because the sizes within a range often overlap enough that a single outfit fits more than one of them. The size guide sets out the centimetre bands, and every garment we make is listed against one of them.

Made from, and looking after it

Polyester fabric with polyester filling. Hand wash only. Do not tumble dry. That is the whole of it. It is worth following, because heat is what turns a soft plush into a stiff one, and no amount of brushing afterwards brings the pile back.

Suitability

It sits on the home and nursery decor side of the shop and is most often bought for a new home and a new arrival. The kind of thing that ends up staying, rather than being put away after a week.

Where this sits in our shop

What we are trying to build is a shop where a companion and something for it to wear can be chosen in the same visit without any measuring anxiety. Tropical Palm Leaf is part of that, sized and banded so the outfit pages can be read against it directly.
