Jellycat Storm Octopus

Jellycat Storm Octopus is a storm grey octopus from Jellycat, stocked in 3 sizes, 14 cm, 23 cm and 49 cm.

The piece itself

What distinguishes Storm Octopus is the texture. It is the same everywhere you touch it, with no hard seams and no stiff patches, and the colourway of storm grey is matched across the ears and paws rather than left to chance at the cutting stage.

Measurements and fit

Storm Octopus measures 14 cm, 23 cm and 49 cm depending on the size chosen. Heights are taken from the base to the top of the head rather than the tip of an ear, which is the figure the size guide lists, so a shelf or a cot space can be judged before it arrives.

The collection it belongs to

Storm Octopus belongs to Jellycat’s Jellycat Characters range, which is the part of the catalogue we stock most deeply because it is the part customers come back for. Pieces from one range tend to sit well together, so if you are building a set rather than buying a single companion it is worth looking across the rest of it. We list what is in stock on the Jellycat Characters pages, and the sizes are given in centimetres throughout so you can see at a glance which of our outfits will fit which piece.

Fabric and washing

Polyester fabric with polyester filling. Hand wash only. Do not tumble dry. Reshape it while it is damp and it dries the way it was made. That takes a minute and it is the only part of the process that really matters.

Choosing it as a gift

The piece leans everyday companion, and it has been chosen most often here for a birthday and no particular reason at all. It wraps well, which matters more than it sounds when something is being given rather than kept.

Where this sits in our shop

Two things happen in this shop. We make outfits for plush companions, and we stock the companions themselves, Storm Octopus included. Keeping both under one roof is the only way to be certain that what we sell to dress a plush actually fits the plush we sold.
