At 31 cm, Jellycat Jazzy Penguin is a black penguin built to be carried rather than shelved.
What it is like to hold
The fur is the soft, slightly weighted kind that has made Jellycat’s animals hard to put down. The colourway is black and white, and the face is stitched rather than printed, so it keeps its expression through washing and through years of being carried about.
Measurements and fit
The measurement is 31 cm. Worth knowing to the centimetre rather than roughly, because our outfits are listed by the height they are cut for and a few centimetres is the difference between a dress that closes and one that does not. Measure base to head, and the size guide will tell you the rest.
Part of the Christmas Characters range
This one comes from the Christmas Characters range. Jellycat design in ranges rather than one piece at a time, and it shows: the proportions, the face and the finish carry across, which is why collectors tend to buy two or three from the same family rather than one from each. Our own outfits are cut to centimetre bands for the same reason, so a piece bought a year later still has something in the wardrobe that fits it.
Made from, and looking after it
Polyester fabric with polyester filling. Hand wash only. Do not tumble dry. Washing by hand keeps the nap on the fabric, which is the part a machine cycle flattens first, and it is the difference between a plush that still looks new after two years and one that does not.
Who it is for
It sits on the everyday companion side of the shop and is most often bought for Christmas and a birthday. The kind of thing that ends up staying, rather than being put away after a week.
About A Flying Wish
A Flying Wish began with outfits and grew into the plush that wear them. Jazzy Penguin is stocked here because it fits that idea, and because the pieces we design are made to last as long as the companion they are made for.
