Jellycat Little Penguin

Jellycat Little Penguin is a black penguin from Jellycat, and it stands 18 cm tall.

What it is like to hold

Little Penguin has the quality that is hard to photograph and obvious in the hand, which is evenness. No thin patches, no hard filling anywhere, and a colourway of black and white carried right through to the underside rather than stopping where it stops being visible.

Size and fit

At 18 cm, Little Penguin is easy to size up against an outfit. Measure your own plush from the base to the top of the head and compare the two numbers directly. The size guide carries the full table, and every garment we make names the height it is cut for.

Part of the Little range

This one comes from the Little range. Jellycat design in ranges rather than one piece at a time, and it shows: the proportions, the face and the finish carry across, which is why collectors tend to buy two or three from the same family rather than one from each. Our own outfits are cut to centimetre bands for the same reason, so a piece bought a year later still has something in the wardrobe that fits it.

Made from, and looking after it

Polyester fabric with polyester filling. Hand wash only. Do not tumble dry. Cool water and a little time are all it asks. Avoid wringing it out, since that is what distorts the seams, and press the water out with a towel instead.

Suitability

It sits on the everyday companion side of the shop and is most often bought for a birthday and no particular reason at all. The kind of thing that ends up staying, rather than being put away after a week.

About A Flying Wish

A Flying Wish is a small operation and it shows in the useful way: orders are packed by the people who made the garments, and the plush, Little Penguin among them, are checked rather than shipped straight from a box. The outfits are ours, the plush are Jellycat’s, and the sizing between them is the part we take care of.
