Jellycat Peanut Penguin Snowboarding

Jellycat Peanut Penguin Snowboarding arrives as a beige penguin, 12 cm from base to ear tip, soft the whole way through.

A closer look

The fur is the soft, slightly weighted kind that has made Jellycat’s animals hard to put down. The colourway is beige, and the face is stitched rather than printed, so it keeps its expression through washing and through years of being carried about.

How big it is

The measurement is 12 cm. Worth knowing to the centimetre rather than roughly, because our outfits are listed by the height they are cut for and a few centimetres is the difference between a dress that closes and one that does not. Measure base to head, and the size guide will tell you the rest.

The collection it belongs to

Within Jellycat’s catalogue Peanut Penguin Snowboarding belongs to Peanut Penguin, and that is the useful thing to know when you are choosing a second one. A range shares its finish and its proportions, so pieces from the same family photograph well together and, more practically, often share a centimetre band, which means they can share a wardrobe.

Materials and care

Polyester fabric with polyester filling. Hand wash only. Do not tumble dry. Washing by hand keeps the nap on the fabric, which is the part a machine cycle flattens first, and it is the difference between a plush that still looks new after two years and one that does not.

Suitability

We list it under everyday companion, and it is picked here mostly for a birthday and no particular reason at all. Big enough to notice when it is unwrapped, and not so big that it has to find a permanent home the same day.

Where this sits in our shop

A Flying Wish is a small operation and it shows in the useful way: orders are packed by the people who made the garments, and the plush, Peanut Penguin Snowboarding among them, are checked rather than shipped straight from a box. The outfits are ours, the plush are Jellycat’s, and the sizing between them is the part we take care of.
