Jellycat Albee Bee

Jellycat Albee Bee is 16 cm of yellow bee, and the weight of it is the first thing anyone notices.

The piece itself

Pick Albee Bee up and the weight is the first thing you notice: enough to feel substantial, not enough to be awkward in a child’s arms. The colourway runs yellow and black, and the pile is brushed in one direction so it catches the light.

Measurements and fit

The measurement is 16 cm. Worth knowing to the centimetre rather than roughly, because our outfits are listed by the height they are cut for and a few centimetres is the difference between a dress that closes and one that does not. Measure base to head, and the size guide will tell you the rest.

Part of the Jellycat Characters range

Within Jellycat’s catalogue Albee Bee belongs to Jellycat Characters, and that is the useful thing to know when you are choosing a second one. A range shares its finish and its proportions, so pieces from the same family photograph well together and, more practically, often share a centimetre band, which means they can share a wardrobe.

Materials and care

Polyester fabric with polyester filling. Hand wash only. Do not tumble dry. Left to dry naturally it keeps its shape, and the stitched features come through a wash unchanged, which is the advantage of embroidery over anything printed or glued.

Choosing it as a gift

It reads as everyday companion, which makes it an easy choice for a birthday and no particular reason at all, and it is one of the pieces people come back for a second time once they have given the first.

Why we stock it

What we are trying to build is a shop where a companion and something for it to wear can be chosen in the same visit without any measuring anxiety. Albee Bee is part of that, sized and banded so the outfit pages can be read against it directly.
