Jellycat Bashful Monkey

A brown monkey from Jellycat, Jellycat Bashful Monkey is stocked in 3 sizes, 18 cm, 31 cm and 51 cm so there is one to suit the shelf it is going on.

About Bashful Monkey

The fur is the soft, slightly weighted kind that has made Jellycat’s animals hard to put down. The colourway is brown, and the face is stitched rather than printed, so it keeps its expression through washing and through years of being carried about.

Measurements and fit

The height is 18 cm, 31 cm and 51 cm depending on the size chosen. That single figure is what our outfit listings are matched against, which is why it is printed here rather than a rough category. If you are buying a garment at the same time, it is the only measurement you need.

Part of the Bashful range

Bashful Monkey belongs to Jellycat’s Bashful range, which is the part of the catalogue we stock most deeply because it is the part customers come back for. Pieces from one range tend to sit well together, so if you are building a set rather than buying a single companion it is worth looking across the rest of it. We list what is in stock on the Bashful pages, and the sizes are given in centimetres throughout so you can see at a glance which of our outfits will fit which piece.

Materials and care

Polyester fabric with polyester filling. Hand wash only. Do not tumble dry. Reshape it while it is damp and it dries the way it was made. That takes a minute and it is the only part of the process that really matters.

Who it is for

We list it under everyday companion, and it is picked here mostly for a birthday and no particular reason at all. Big enough to notice when it is unwrapped, and not so big that it has to find a permanent home the same day.

Why we stock it

Our outfits are cut, sewn and finished by us, not bought in, and the plush we stock are chosen because our pieces fit them. Bashful Monkey is one of those. If you are buying both at once, the centimetre band on this page is the number the garment listings are matched against.
