Jellycat Bashful Cockatoo

Jellycat Bashful Cockatoo is a white bird from Jellycat, and it stands 31 cm tall.

The piece itself

Bashful Cockatoo is made from the dense, brushed fabric Jellycat uses across its animals. The colouring is white and yellow, deepest along the back and lighter underneath, which is what gives the shape its softness in photographs and in a dim room.

Measurements and fit

At 31 cm, Bashful Cockatoo is easy to size up against an outfit. Measure your own plush from the base to the top of the head and compare the two numbers directly. The size guide carries the full table, and every garment we make names the height it is cut for.

Part of the Bashful range

Within Jellycat’s catalogue Bashful Cockatoo belongs to Bashful, and that is the useful thing to know when you are choosing a second one. A range shares its finish and its proportions, so pieces from the same family photograph well together and, more practically, often share a centimetre band, which means they can share a wardrobe.

Fabric and washing

Polyester fabric with polyester filling. Hand wash only. Do not tumble dry. Cool water and a little time are all it asks. Avoid wringing it out, since that is what distorts the seams, and press the water out with a towel instead.

Suitability

The piece leans everyday companion, and it has been chosen most often here for a birthday and no particular reason at all. It wraps well, which matters more than it sounds when something is being given rather than kept.

Where this sits in our shop

Two things happen in this shop. We make outfits for plush companions, and we stock the companions themselves, Bashful Cockatoo included. Keeping both under one roof is the only way to be certain that what we sell to dress a plush actually fits the plush we sold.
