Jellycat Wiley Whale

Jellycat Wiley Whale comes in two sizes, 50 cm and 80 cm, a blue whale soft the whole way through.

About Wiley Whale

Pick Wiley Whale up and the weight is the first thing you notice: enough to feel substantial, not enough to be awkward in a child’s arms. The colourway runs blue, and the pile is brushed in one direction so it catches the light.

Measurements and fit

At 50 cm and 80 cm depending on the size chosen, Wiley Whale is easy to size up against an outfit. Measure your own plush from the base to the top of the head and compare the two numbers directly. The size guide carries the full table, and every garment we make names the height it is cut for.

Part of the Jellycat Characters range

Wiley Whale sits within the Jellycat Characters range. We keep a range together on the shelf and on the site, because the pieces were designed to be seen that way, and because the sizes within a range often overlap enough that a single outfit fits more than one of them. The size guide sets out the centimetre bands, and every garment we make is listed against one of them.

Made from, and looking after it

Polyester fabric with polyester filling. Hand wash only. Do not tumble dry. Kept out of direct sunlight the colour holds for years. Fading is the one kind of wear that cannot be undone, and a sunny windowsill does it faster than handling ever will.

Who it is for

It sits on the everyday companion side of the shop and is most often bought for a birthday and no particular reason at all. The kind of thing that ends up staying, rather than being put away after a week.

Where this sits in our shop

Two things happen in this shop. We make outfits for plush companions, and we stock the companions themselves, Wiley Whale included. Keeping both under one roof is the only way to be certain that what we sell to dress a plush actually fits the plush we sold.
