Jellycat Tommy Turtle

Meet Jellycat Tommy Turtle, a green turtle of 30 cm that settles easily into the crook of an arm.

The piece itself

Tommy Turtle is made from the dense, brushed fabric Jellycat uses across its animals. The colouring is green, deepest along the back and lighter underneath, which is what gives the shape its softness in photographs and in a dim room.

How big it is

Tommy Turtle stands 30 cm. We give the exact figure on every plush for one reason: it is the only number that tells you whether something will fit it. Our garment listings carry the same kind of figure, so the two can be read directly against each other without converting anything.

Part of the Jellycat Characters range

Within Jellycat’s catalogue Tommy Turtle belongs to Jellycat Characters, and that is the useful thing to know when you are choosing a second one. A range shares its finish and its proportions, so pieces from the same family photograph well together and, more practically, often share a centimetre band, which means they can share a wardrobe.

Fabric and washing

Polyester fabric with polyester filling. Hand wash only. Do not tumble dry. Kept out of direct sunlight the colour holds for years. Fading is the one kind of wear that cannot be undone, and a sunny windowsill does it faster than handling ever will.

Choosing it as a gift

We list it under everyday companion, and it is picked here mostly for a birthday and no particular reason at all. Big enough to notice when it is unwrapped, and not so big that it has to find a permanent home the same day.

Why we stock it

A Flying Wish began with outfits and grew into the plush that wear them. Tommy Turtle is stocked here because it fits that idea, and because the pieces we design are made to last as long as the companion they are made for.
