Jellycat Riley Razor Fish

A blue fish at 5 cm, Jellycat Riley Razor Fish belongs to the part of Jellycat’s range made for holding.

The piece itself

Pick Riley Razor Fish up and the weight is the first thing you notice: enough to feel substantial, not enough to be awkward in a child’s arms. The colourway runs blue, and the pile is brushed in one direction so it catches the light.

How big it is

Riley Razor Fish stands 5 cm. We give the exact figure on every plush for one reason: it is the only number that tells you whether something will fit it. Our garment listings carry the same kind of figure, so the two can be read directly against each other without converting anything.

The collection it belongs to

Within Jellycat’s catalogue Riley Razor Fish belongs to Jellycat Characters, and that is the useful thing to know when you are choosing a second one. A range shares its finish and its proportions, so pieces from the same family photograph well together and, more practically, often share a centimetre band, which means they can share a wardrobe.

Materials and care

Polyester fabric with polyester filling. Hand wash only. Do not tumble dry. Kept out of direct sunlight the colour holds for years. Fading is the one kind of wear that cannot be undone, and a sunny windowsill does it faster than handling ever will.

Suitability

The piece leans everyday companion, and it has been chosen most often here for a birthday and no particular reason at all. It wraps well, which matters more than it sounds when something is being given rather than kept.

Where this sits in our shop

A Flying Wish is a small operation and it shows in the useful way: orders are packed by the people who made the garments, and the plush, Riley Razor Fish among them, are checked rather than shipped straight from a box. The outfits are ours, the plush are Jellycat’s, and the sizing between them is the part we take care of.
