Jellycat Fluffy Octopus
Fluffy Octopus comes in a blue with real depth to it, closer to evening than sky. It keeps the slow rhythm of deep water, where light arrives late and gently. The colour runs right through, underside included. Easy to give and difficult to hand back.
Sold by A Flying Wish, an independent shop not affiliated with Jellycat or any other brand. Stock is limited to the units we hold.

There is a stillness to Jellycat Fluffy Octopus, a blue octopus of 8 cm that asks to be picked up.
What it is like to hold
What distinguishes Fluffy Octopus is the texture. It is the same everywhere you touch it, with no hard seams and no stiff patches, and the colourway of blue is matched across the ears and paws rather than left to chance at the cutting stage.
How big it is
The measurement is 8 cm. Worth knowing to the centimetre rather than roughly, because our outfits are listed by the height they are cut for and a few centimetres is the difference between a dress that closes and one that does not. Measure base to head, and the size guide will tell you the rest.
Part of the Fluffy range
Fluffy Octopus sits within the Fluffy range. We keep a range together on the shelf and on the site, because the pieces were designed to be seen that way, and because the sizes within a range often overlap enough that a single outfit fits more than one of them. The size guide sets out the centimetre bands, and every garment we make is listed against one of them.
Made from, and looking after it
Polyester fabric with polyester filling. Hand wash only. Do not tumble dry. That is the whole of it. It is worth following, because heat is what turns a soft plush into a stiff one, and no amount of brushing afterwards brings the pile back.
Who it is for
It is as fitting for a birthday as for no particular occasion at all. It is also one of the safer choices when you do not know the room it is going into, because it does not insist on a colour scheme.
Why we stock it
Our outfits are cut, sewn and finished by us, not bought in, and the plush we stock are chosen because our pieces fit them. Fluffy Octopus is one of those. If you are buying both at once, the centimetre band on this page is the number the garment listings are matched against.
