Jellycat Fluffy Crab
Fluffy Crab arrives in red with berry in it rather than fire. It has come up from somewhere blue and cold and taken the calm with it. It holds its own outline instead of folding into a heap. It photographs well and lives better.
Sold by A Flying Wish, an independent shop not affiliated with Jellycat or any other brand. Stock is limited to the units we hold.

At 9 cm, Jellycat Fluffy Crab is a red crab built to be carried rather than shelved.
The piece itself
The proportions are doing the work here. Slightly heavier through the base than the head, so Fluffy Crab sits rather than topples, in a colourway of red that stays readable in a nursery with the lights low.
Size and fit
The height is 9 cm. That single figure is what our outfit listings are matched against, which is why it is printed here rather than a rough category. If you are buying a garment at the same time, it is the only measurement you need.
The collection it belongs to
This one comes from the Fluffy range. Jellycat design in ranges rather than one piece at a time, and it shows: the proportions, the face and the finish carry across, which is why collectors tend to buy two or three from the same family rather than one from each. Our own outfits are cut to centimetre bands for the same reason, so a piece bought a year later still has something in the wardrobe that fits it.
Fabric and washing
Polyester fabric with polyester filling. Hand wash only. Do not tumble dry. Washing by hand keeps the nap on the fabric, which is the part a machine cycle flattens first, and it is the difference between a plush that still looks new after two years and one that does not.
Suitability
It is as fitting for a birthday as for no particular occasion at all. It is also one of the safer choices when you do not know the room it is going into, because it does not insist on a colour scheme.
Where this sits in our shop
Our outfits are cut, sewn and finished by us, not bought in, and the plush we stock are chosen because our pieces fit them. Fluffy Crab is one of those. If you are buying both at once, the centimetre band on this page is the number the garment listings are matched against.
