Jellycat Fabulous Fruit Melon

Meet Jellycat Fabulous Fruit Melon, a green amuseable of 16 cm that settles easily into the crook of an arm.

A closer look

The Amuseables idea is simple and it works. An ordinary thing is given a face, two small feet and enough personality to earn a place on a shelf. Fabulous Fruit Melon reads as green and orange, and the stitching around the features is neat enough to look deliberate rather than merely cute.

How big it is

At 16 cm, Fabulous Fruit Melon is easy to size up against an outfit. Measure your own plush from the base to the top of the head and compare the two numbers directly. The size guide carries the full table, and every garment we make names the height it is cut for.

Where it sits in the Jellycat range

This one comes from the Fabulous Fruit range. Jellycat design in ranges rather than one piece at a time, and it shows: the proportions, the face and the finish carry across, which is why collectors tend to buy two or three from the same family rather than one from each. Our own outfits are cut to centimetre bands for the same reason, so a piece bought a year later still has something in the wardrobe that fits it.

Made from, and looking after it

Polyester fabric with polyester filling. Hand wash only. Do not tumble dry. Spot cleaning handles most of what happens day to day, and a full wash is rarely needed more than once or twice a year unless it has been somewhere muddy.

Choosing it as a gift

It reads as amuseables food and drink, which makes it an easy choice for a birthday and no particular reason at all, and it is one of the pieces people come back for a second time once they have given the first.

Why we stock it

What we are trying to build is a shop where a companion and something for it to wear can be chosen in the same visit without any measuring anxiety. Fabulous Fruit Melon is part of that, sized and banded so the outfit pages can be read against it directly.
