Jellycat Crimson Santa Medium

Meet Jellycat Crimson Santa, a crimson red festive character of 34 cm that settles easily into the crook of an arm.

The piece itself

Crimson Santa has the quality that is hard to photograph and obvious in the hand, which is evenness. No thin patches, no hard filling anywhere, and a colourway of crimson red and white carried right through to the underside rather than stopping where it stops being visible.

How big it is

The measurement is 34 cm. Worth knowing to the centimetre rather than roughly, because our outfits are listed by the height they are cut for and a few centimetres is the difference between a dress that closes and one that does not. Measure base to head, and the size guide will tell you the rest.

The collection it belongs to

This one comes from the Crimson Santa range. Jellycat design in ranges rather than one piece at a time, and it shows: the proportions, the face and the finish carry across, which is why collectors tend to buy two or three from the same family rather than one from each. Our own outfits are cut to centimetre bands for the same reason, so a piece bought a year later still has something in the wardrobe that fits it.

Fabric and washing

Polyester fabric with polyester filling. Hand wash only. Do not tumble dry. Left to dry naturally it keeps its shape, and the stitched features come through a wash unchanged, which is the advantage of embroidery over anything printed or glued.

Who it is for

It reads as christmas / festive, which makes it an easy choice for Christmas, and it is one of the pieces people come back for a second time once they have given the first.

Why we stock it

Two things happen in this shop. We make outfits for plush companions, and we stock the companions themselves, Crimson Santa included. Keeping both under one roof is the only way to be certain that what we sell to dress a plush actually fits the plush we sold.
