Otto Sausage Dog jellycat

At 18 cm, Jellycat Otto Sausage Dog is a brown dog built to be carried rather than shelved.

What it is like to hold

The proportions are doing the work here. Slightly heavier through the base than the head, so Otto Sausage Dog sits rather than topples, in a colourway of brown and pink that stays readable in a nursery with the lights low.

Measurements and fit

Otto Sausage Dog stands 18 cm. We give the exact figure on every plush for one reason: it is the only number that tells you whether something will fit it. Our garment listings carry the same kind of figure, so the two can be read directly against each other without converting anything.

The collection it belongs to

This one comes from the Jellycat Characters range. Jellycat design in ranges rather than one piece at a time, and it shows: the proportions, the face and the finish carry across, which is why collectors tend to buy two or three from the same family rather than one from each. Our own outfits are cut to centimetre bands for the same reason, so a piece bought a year later still has something in the wardrobe that fits it.

Made from, and looking after it

Polyester fabric with polyester filling. Hand wash only. Do not tumble dry. Kept out of direct sunlight the colour holds for years. Fading is the one kind of wear that cannot be undone, and a sunny windowsill does it faster than handling ever will.

Who it is for

Filed under everyday companion, and chosen here for a birthday and no particular reason at all more than anything else. It reads as considered rather than expensive, which is usually the harder thing to get right in a gift.

Where this sits in our shop

Our outfits are cut, sewn and finished by us, not bought in, and the plush we stock are chosen because our pieces fit them. Otto Sausage Dog is one of those. If you are buying both at once, the centimetre band on this page is the number the garment listings are matched against.
