Jellycat Willow Owl

There is a stillness to Jellycat Willow Owl, a brown owl of 20 cm that asks to be picked up.

A closer look

The fur is the soft, slightly weighted kind that has made Jellycat’s animals hard to put down. The colourway is brown and cream, and the face is stitched rather than printed, so it keeps its expression through washing and through years of being carried about.

How big it is

Willow Owl measures 20 cm. Heights are taken from the base to the top of the head rather than the tip of an ear, which is the figure the size guide lists, so a shelf or a cot space can be judged before it arrives.

The collection it belongs to

Willow Owl sits within the Jellycat Characters range. We keep a range together on the shelf and on the site, because the pieces were designed to be seen that way, and because the sizes within a range often overlap enough that a single outfit fits more than one of them. The size guide sets out the centimetre bands, and every garment we make is listed against one of them.

Materials and care

Polyester fabric with polyester filling. Hand wash only. Do not tumble dry. Reshape it while it is damp and it dries the way it was made. That takes a minute and it is the only part of the process that really matters.

Who it is for

Filed under everyday companion, and chosen here for a birthday and no particular reason at all more than anything else. It reads as considered rather than expensive, which is usually the harder thing to get right in a gift.

Where this sits in our shop

Two things happen in this shop. We make outfits for plush companions, and we stock the companions themselves, Willow Owl included. Keeping both under one roof is the only way to be certain that what we sell to dress a plush actually fits the plush we sold.
