Jellycat Amuseables Sports Kettlebell

There is a stillness to Jellycat Amuseables Sports Kettlebell, a grey amuseable of 19 cm that asks to be picked up.

A closer look

This is one of the Amuseables, the range where everyday objects are given a face and a pair of feet. The colourway is grey, and it holds its shape well enough to sit up on its own rather than slump against whatever is behind it.

Size and fit

Amuseables Sports Kettlebell measures 19 cm. Heights are taken from the base to the top of the head rather than the tip of an ear, which is the figure the size guide lists, so a shelf or a cot space can be judged before it arrives.

The collection it belongs to

This one comes from the Amuseables range. Jellycat design in ranges rather than one piece at a time, and it shows: the proportions, the face and the finish carry across, which is why collectors tend to buy two or three from the same family rather than one from each. Our own outfits are cut to centimetre bands for the same reason, so a piece bought a year later still has something in the wardrobe that fits it.

Materials and care

Polyester fabric with polyester filling. Hand wash only. Do not tumble dry. Left to dry naturally it keeps its shape, and the stitched features come through a wash unchanged, which is the advantage of embroidery over anything printed or glued.

Choosing it as a gift

The piece leans novelty and fun, and it has been chosen most often here for a birthday and no particular reason at all. It wraps well, which matters more than it sounds when something is being given rather than kept.

About A Flying Wish

What we are trying to build is a shop where a companion and something for it to wear can be chosen in the same visit without any measuring anxiety. Amuseables Sports Kettlebell is part of that, sized and banded so the outfit pages can be read against it directly.
