Jellycat Amuseable Gingerbread House

A beige amuseable at 20 cm, Jellycat Amuseables Gingerbread House belongs to the part of Jellycat’s range made for holding.

What it is like to hold

This is one of the Amuseables, the range where everyday objects are given a face and a pair of feet. The colourway is beige and brown, and it holds its shape well enough to sit up on its own rather than slump against whatever is behind it.

Size and fit

Amuseables Gingerbread House stands 20 cm. We give the exact figure on every plush for one reason: it is the only number that tells you whether something will fit it. Our garment listings carry the same kind of figure, so the two can be read directly against each other without converting anything.

The collection it belongs to

This one comes from the Amuseables range. Jellycat design in ranges rather than one piece at a time, and it shows: the proportions, the face and the finish carry across, which is why collectors tend to buy two or three from the same family rather than one from each. Our own outfits are cut to centimetre bands for the same reason, so a piece bought a year later still has something in the wardrobe that fits it.

Materials and care

Polyester fabric with polyester filling. Hand wash only. Do not tumble dry. Nothing here needs special products. Warm water and a mild detergent are what the fabric was finished with in the first place, and anything stronger works against it.

Who it is for

The piece leans amuseables food and drink, and it has been chosen most often here for Christmas and a birthday. It wraps well, which matters more than it sounds when something is being given rather than kept.

Why we stock it

A Flying Wish began with outfits and grew into the plush that wear them. Amuseables Gingerbread House is stocked here because it fits that idea, and because the pieces we design are made to last as long as the companion they are made for.
