Jellycat Bashful Unicorn

Jellycat Bashful Unicorn is a cream unicorn from Jellycat, and it stands 31 cm tall.

What it is like to hold

The fur is the soft, slightly weighted kind that has made Jellycat’s animals hard to put down. The colourway is cream and pastel multi, and the face is stitched rather than printed, so it keeps its expression through washing and through years of being carried about.

Measurements and fit

The measurement is 31 cm. Worth knowing to the centimetre rather than roughly, because our outfits are listed by the height they are cut for and a few centimetres is the difference between a dress that closes and one that does not. Measure base to head, and the size guide will tell you the rest.

Where it sits in the Jellycat range

This one comes from the Bashful range. Jellycat design in ranges rather than one piece at a time, and it shows: the proportions, the face and the finish carry across, which is why collectors tend to buy two or three from the same family rather than one from each. Our own outfits are cut to centimetre bands for the same reason, so a piece bought a year later still has something in the wardrobe that fits it.

Made from, and looking after it

Polyester fabric with polyester filling. Hand wash only. Do not tumble dry. Reshape it while it is damp and it dries the way it was made. That takes a minute and it is the only part of the process that really matters.

Choosing it as a gift

The piece leans fantasy and collectible, and it has been chosen most often here for a birthday and a collector. It wraps well, which matters more than it sounds when something is being given rather than kept.

About A Flying Wish

What we are trying to build is a shop where a companion and something for it to wear can be chosen in the same visit without any measuring anxiety. Bashful Unicorn is part of that, sized and banded so the outfit pages can be read against it directly.
