Jellycat Amuseable Pain Au Raisin

There is a stillness to Jellycat Amuseables Pain au Raisin, a golden brown amuseable of 12 cm that asks to be picked up.

A closer look

This is one of the Amuseables, the range where everyday objects are given a face and a pair of feet. The colourway is golden brown, and it holds its shape well enough to sit up on its own rather than slump against whatever is behind it.

Measurements and fit

Amuseables Pain au Raisin measures 12 cm. Heights are taken from the base to the top of the head rather than the tip of an ear, which is the figure the size guide lists, so a shelf or a cot space can be judged before it arrives.

The collection it belongs to

Amuseables Pain au Raisin sits within the Amuseables range. We keep a range together on the shelf and on the site, because the pieces were designed to be seen that way, and because the sizes within a range often overlap enough that a single outfit fits more than one of them. The size guide sets out the centimetre bands, and every garment we make is listed against one of them.

Made from, and looking after it

Polyester fabric with polyester filling. Hand wash only. Do not tumble dry. Washing by hand keeps the nap on the fabric, which is the part a machine cycle flattens first, and it is the difference between a plush that still looks new after two years and one that does not.

Suitability

It reads as amuseables food and drink, which makes it an easy choice for a birthday and no particular reason at all, and it is one of the pieces people come back for a second time once they have given the first.

Why we stock it

A Flying Wish is a small operation and it shows in the useful way: orders are packed by the people who made the garments, and the plush, Amuseables Pain au Raisin among them, are checked rather than shipped straight from a box. The outfits are ours, the plush are Jellycat’s, and the sizing between them is the part we take care of.
