Gingerbread Snap Knit Sweater Fits Jellycat 18cm Plush

A cream knitted sweater with a gingerbread figure and lettering worked across the chest in red and green. The whole design is colourwork, knitted in as the piece is made, so the surface stays one fabric and keeps its stretch. A teddy bear knit jumper carrying this much pattern usually stiffens where the colours change; a fine gauge and short floats behind are what keep this one soft. The lettering is small enough to read as lettering rather than as marks, which is the hardest part of a motif this size. Wash it flat and press the water out between two towels.

Will it fit your plush?

Measure your friend from the top of the head to the bottom, sitting or standing as they normally do. This one is cut for a plush about 18cm tall. It is designed around Jellycat proportions and fits other plush of the same height just as well.

Getting it on

Pull it over the head first, then guide each arm through. The knit has enough give to pass over a wide head and spring back. Nothing here is tight enough to squash a soft plush, and nothing is loose enough to slide off.

Looking after it

Hand wash cool and never wring the knit. Press the water out between two towels, reshape it on a flat surface and let it dry there, hanging a knit while it is heavy with water is what stretches it out of shape.
