More about Clothes for Jellycat
Jellycat clothes, made by us to fit the plush you already own. These outfits are designed and sewn by A Flying Wish. They are not Jellycat products and we are not an authorised stockist; they are cut to fit Jellycat shapes, which is a different thing and worth saying plainly.
The widest size range we make
This is the only part of the shop that runs across five sizes, because the plush it dresses do. A small bag charm and a large seated bear are both here, so the wardrobe has to stretch further than anywhere else on the site.
Most pieces are cut to 18 cm (93 of them) or 28 cm (95), with 17 at 15 cm and a small run at 36 cm, 47 cm and 56 cm for larger companions. Every listing names its size.
Shape matters as much as height
Two companions can measure the same and still need different garments. A long-eared bunny needs room at the hood and a narrow shoulder. A round shape with no limbs needs a wide opening and no armhole at all. A seated bear needs length through the body rather than the leg.
This is why we do not sell a single garment as fitting everything. The cut is chosen for the shape, and the listing says which shape it was cut for.
How to measure
Sit your companion on a flat surface and measure from the top of the head to the base, ignoring ears. Match that figure to the size on the listing. If it falls between two bands, the larger one is usually the better choice, since a garment that is slightly generous still sits well and one that is slightly tight will not go on at all.
For the ones that get carried everywhere
Much of what we make here is for a companion that travels: to a first day somewhere new, to a hospital, to a grandparent’s house and back. The seams and fastenings are chosen with that in mind, so an outfit survives being taken off in a hurry and put back on in the dark.
