Jellycat Harrods Cheryl cherry cake

There is a stillness to Jellycat Harrods Cheryl Cherry Cake, a cherry red amuseable of 16 cm that asks to be picked up.

The piece itself

Amuseables work because the joke is gentle. Harrods Cheryl Cherry Cake is cherry red and cream, given a face and two feet and otherwise left to be the thing it is, and the restraint is the reason it still looks right on a shelf a year later.

How big it is

Harrods Cheryl Cherry Cake stands 16 cm. We give the exact figure on every plush for one reason: it is the only number that tells you whether something will fit it. Our garment listings carry the same kind of figure, so the two can be read directly against each other without converting anything.

Part of the Harrods Exclusive range

This one comes from the Harrods Exclusive range. Jellycat design in ranges rather than one piece at a time, and it shows: the proportions, the face and the finish carry across, which is why collectors tend to buy two or three from the same family rather than one from each. Our own outfits are cut to centimetre bands for the same reason, so a piece bought a year later still has something in the wardrobe that fits it.

Fabric and washing

Polyester fabric with polyester filling. Hand wash only. Do not tumble dry. Kept out of direct sunlight the colour holds for years. Fading is the one kind of wear that cannot be undone, and a sunny windowsill does it faster than handling ever will.

Who it is for

Filed under amuseables food and drink, and chosen here for a birthday and no particular reason at all more than anything else. It reads as considered rather than expensive, which is usually the harder thing to get right in a gift.

Where this sits in our shop

Our outfits are cut, sewn and finished by us, not bought in, and the plush we stock are chosen because our pieces fit them. Harrods Cheryl Cherry Cake is one of those. If you are buying both at once, the centimetre band on this page is the number the garment listings are matched against.
