Jellycat Bartholomew Bear Spider
Bartholomew Bear Spider arrives in brown that holds the light rather than swallowing it. There is something steady here, the kind of company that does not need conversation. It holds its own outline instead of folding into a heap. It photographs well and lives better.

At 26 cm, Jellycat Bartholomew Bear Spider is a caramel brown bear built to be carried rather than shelved.
About Bartholomew Bear Spider
Pick Bartholomew Bear Spider up and the weight is the first thing you notice: enough to feel substantial, not enough to be awkward in a child’s arms. The colourway runs caramel brown, and the pile is brushed in one direction so it catches the light.
Size and fit
At 26 cm, Bartholomew Bear Spider is easy to size up against an outfit. Measure your own plush from the base to the top of the head and compare the two numbers directly. The size guide carries the full table, and every garment we make names the height it is cut for.
Part of the Bartholomew Bear range
This one comes from the Bartholomew Bear range. Jellycat design in ranges rather than one piece at a time, and it shows: the proportions, the face and the finish carry across, which is why collectors tend to buy two or three from the same family rather than one from each. Our own outfits are cut to centimetre bands for the same reason, so a piece bought a year later still has something in the wardrobe that fits it.
Fabric and washing
Polyester fabric with polyester filling. Hand wash only. Do not tumble dry. Washing by hand keeps the nap on the fabric, which is the part a machine cycle flattens first, and it is the difference between a plush that still looks new after two years and one that does not.
Suitability
Its register is everyday companion, which puts it squarely in the Halloween and a birthday bracket. It is also one of the safer choices when you do not know the room it is going into, because it does not insist on a colour scheme.
Where this sits in our shop
A Flying Wish is a small operation and it shows in the useful way: orders are packed by the people who made the garments, and the plush, Bartholomew Bear Spider among them, are checked rather than shipped straight from a box. The outfits are ours, the plush are Jellycat’s, and the sizing between them is the part we take care of.
