Jellycat Bartholomew Bear Pumpkin arrives as a orange bear, 36 cm from base to ear tip, soft the whole way through.

The piece itself

Bartholomew Bear Pumpkin is made from the dense, brushed fabric Jellycat uses across its animals. The colouring is orange and green, deepest along the back and lighter underneath, which is what gives the shape its softness in photographs and in a dim room.

Measurements and fit

At 36 cm, Bartholomew Bear Pumpkin is easy to size up against an outfit. Measure your own plush from the base to the top of the head and compare the two numbers directly. The size guide carries the full table, and every garment we make names the height it is cut for.

This one comes from the Bartholomew Bear range. Jellycat design in ranges rather than one piece at a time, and it shows: the proportions, the face and the finish carry across, which is why collectors tend to buy two or three from the same family rather than one from each. Our own outfits are cut to centimetre bands for the same reason, so a piece bought a year later still has something in the wardrobe that fits it.

Materials and care

Polyester fabric with polyester filling. Hand wash only. Do not tumble dry. Reshape it while it is damp and it dries the way it was made. That takes a minute and it is the only part of the process that really matters.

Choosing it as a gift

Filed under everyday companion, and chosen here for Halloween and a birthday more than anything else. It reads as considered rather than expensive, which is usually the harder thing to get right in a gift.
