Jellycat Bartholomew Bear Bumblebee

There is a stillness to Jellycat Bartholomew Bear Bumblebee, a caramel brown bear of 26 cm that asks to be picked up.

What it is like to hold

What distinguishes Bartholomew Bear Bumblebee is the texture. It is the same everywhere you touch it, with no hard seams and no stiff patches, and the colourway of caramel brown is matched across the ears and paws rather than left to chance at the cutting stage.

Measurements and fit

The height is 26 cm. That single figure is what our outfit listings are matched against, which is why it is printed here rather than a rough category. If you are buying a garment at the same time, it is the only measurement you need.

The collection it belongs to

This one comes from the Bartholomew Bear range. Jellycat design in ranges rather than one piece at a time, and it shows: the proportions, the face and the finish carry across, which is why collectors tend to buy two or three from the same family rather than one from each. Our own outfits are cut to centimetre bands for the same reason, so a piece bought a year later still has something in the wardrobe that fits it.

Made from, and looking after it

Polyester fabric with polyester filling. Hand wash only. Do not tumble dry. Reshape it while it is damp and it dries the way it was made. That takes a minute and it is the only part of the process that really matters.

Choosing it as a gift

As a gift it works for a birthday and no particular reason at all, and it belongs to the everyday companion side of what we stock. If you are buying for someone who already has one or two, the range it comes from is worth a look for something that will sit beside them.

Where this sits in our shop

A Flying Wish stocks Jellycat plush alongside the outfits we design and make ourselves. Every piece is designed with purpose, made to fit many beloved plush companions, and the two halves of the shop are meant to be used together. Bartholomew Bear Bumblebee is one of the plush our outfits are cut to fit, and the size guide sets out which pieces work with which band.
