Jellycat Amuseables Horatio Pistachio

Jellycat Amuseables Horatio Pistachio arrives as a green amuseable, 14 cm from base to ear tip, soft the whole way through.

The piece itself

Amuseables work because the joke is gentle. Amuseables Horatio Pistachio is green and beige, given a face and two feet and otherwise left to be the thing it is, and the restraint is the reason it still looks right on a shelf a year later.

Measurements and fit

Amuseables Horatio Pistachio measures 14 cm. Heights are taken from the base to the top of the head rather than the tip of an ear, which is the figure the size guide lists, so a shelf or a cot space can be judged before it arrives.

The collection it belongs to

The Amuseables range is where Amuseables Horatio Pistachio comes from. Ranges matter more than they might seem to with Jellycat, because the character of a piece is set as much by the family it belongs to as by the animal it is. Buying within one range is the reliable way to end up with a shelf that looks deliberate rather than accumulated, and our outfits are sized to follow.

Made from, and looking after it

Polyester fabric with polyester filling. Hand wash only. Do not tumble dry. Kept out of direct sunlight the colour holds for years. Fading is the one kind of wear that cannot be undone, and a sunny windowsill does it faster than handling ever will.

Suitability

As a gift it works for a birthday and no particular reason at all, and it belongs to the amuseables food and drink side of what we stock. If you are buying for someone who already has one or two, the range it comes from is worth a look for something that will sit beside them.

Where this sits in our shop

Two things happen in this shop. We make outfits for plush companions, and we stock the companions themselves, Amuseables Horatio Pistachio included. Keeping both under one roof is the only way to be certain that what we sell to dress a plush actually fits the plush we sold.
